New Features in Fall 2011
Elementary students in grades 4-6 can now explore the world of work through CareerLocker Elementary. CareerLocker Elementary helps students to connect the activities they enjoy to skills that will help them to be successful in life. In WISCareers Elementary, students will find the Avatar tool, a colorful Career Cluster landscape (based on the 16 National Career Clusters), an Individual Learning Plan/ePortfolio, and interactive career exploration games.
Our new Learning Styles Inventory is now on CareerLocker! Your students will be able to discover their learning styles, and then save their results to their ILP/ePortfolios. Furthermore, they can see whether they learn best by reading, hearing, or doing, and then adapt their study habits to maximize their learning.
The ILP/ePortfolio has a new look and students can now save their favorite career clusters. Don’t forget to have students add their own categories to the ILP/ePortfolio as well!
Designed to increase student's confidence in education and career decision-making, don’t forget about the Education and Career Planning tool. This interactive module will leave students with a relevant and concrete list of goals and a detailed report to guide them through high school and beyond. Students will compare assessments to their chosen occupations, explore and plan for post-secondary options, reflect on decisions, and set relevant and timely goals. Students will love the individual and relevant information. Parents will love the planning assistance and extensive amount of information available to their children.
You are now able to run a report of your students’ top career clusters. At the professional home page, just click on ‘Usage Reports,’ ‘PGI’ and run your report. You will be able to see top clusters as well as matching student info.
